With the help of a replacement part obtained through eBay, and a ‘how to’ video on YouTube I’ve managed to resurrect my mum’s laptop from digital oblivion.

Feeling pretty pleased about that.

Update 20 Feb 2015: More than 3 years later, the laptop is still working and being used.
